mod install issue (Random encounters reworked )

i followed the install guide

installed script merger
used the install file for the mod - it downloaded the things as seen in the video
it did not prompt me to run the script merger as seen in the video
so i hit enter to continue
ran the script merger and proceeded as seen in the video

i had another pop up window telling me about number of conflicts - pressed ok
had another pop up window showing me filenames and folder locations - pressed ok

ran the game - it compiled the scripts
loaded my save - everything fine

except - i have no mod menu

Are you using for next gen or old gen? If next gen this install video is outdated. You need to go to (game)\bin\config\r4game\user_config_matrix\pc and open dx12filelist.txt, then add modRandomEncountersReworked.xml; to the list.

There's no point installing on Next Gen yet, it crashes a lot and most features are broken. The author said he'll release a patch some time early Jan so best to just wait on that.

Most old mods do not work on the next gen update, the mods need to be updated for 4.0.

In a few hours, probably within 2 hours, the official new release of the mod is being released. Lots of bugs got worked out, crashes fixed etc.

Yes i did an oopsi in the first hours after the release so if you're experiencing crashes re-download the release and they will go away! Have fun!

Damned if i'll install a mod that downloads files outside of a trusted source - especially one that the author plugs themselves.

i tried to uninstall the old version - removed files and un-done the script merging

first attempt caused a crash with showing 4 errors
second attempt seemed fine at first because the game started but it could not located any of the DLCs and additional contents

managed to sort of reinstall it to keep playing - game runs fine even tho the mod is not really active


to install the new version
do i just remove all files from old RER mod - undo the script merging as well (?)
then run the NEW install script
then run script merger when prompted (?)
as previously seen in the video guide ?
