console commands?
Hi,

I played Witcher 3 non-stop through all DLC and the main quest and now I want to come back and start over (not NG+).

On Nexus, there are dozens of "Completed all quests, start over NG+ with everything" save files.

However, I just want to start over in regular mode. I just want to start with tons of cash, and maybe some starting GWENT cards to avoid the grind.

I do NOT want to do exploits where I sell pearls to a merchant and wait 5 days, etc. I just want to type in something like add.item money 20000 and go enjoy the game without grinding for cash.

How can I do this?

The debugconsole mods are on nexus are old, and the save files are absurdly specific to NG+ and nothing else.

1. Go to your Library in Steam
2. Right click on Witcher 3 and choose Manage -> Browse Local Files
3. From there, navigate to the directory ./bin/config/base/
4. Open the general.ini file with a text editor like Notepad
5. Add a new line with:
DBGConsoleOn=true
6. Save the file and start the game.
7. Assuming you are using a U.S. keyboard, press the backtick/tilda key. It's to the left of the number 1 key above the tab key.
8. You can use commands like
addmoney(1000)
9. You can find other commands by doing a web search for "witcher 3 console commands". A lot of third party sites document them well.

You don't even have to use the mod. Just navigate to the file mentioned above and edit the .ini doc as described above.

Or you can install the mod so that anytime you want / need to use a console command you can do so in game, on the fly. Comes in super handy for multiple companion screenshots and mod creation...

You don't understand. The mod is simply adding that ONE line. You can add it yourself once and it works every time.

It's the same result as just editing the document.

If you had your game open when you edited the file, then restart the game and it will work. If it doesn't then you did something wrong
