How to have full screen with lower than native resolution?
My laptop's native resolution is 2560x1440, but I want to set it to 1920x1080 so I get better fps. When I do this the game screen becomes smaller and doesn't use my whole monitor. How do I bypass this?

Set the display mode to fullscreen instead of borderless window if it is possible.

I have the same issue, fullscreen is not working properly. THe resolution is changed but the image is not stretched to fullscreen. I'm using an AMD card.

Change scaling mode to full screen in GPU driver graphics setting (not the game).

Nvidia -> control panel -> Adjust desktop size and position -> select scaling mode > full screen -> perform scaling: Display

AMD -> I don't have AMD card so no idea what menus are called but there must be identical menu in AMD control panel.

I had this issue when I first updated, double check the screen modes slider and make sure to select full screen instead of borderless window. When I first updated, I couldn't find fullscreen mode, it didn't seem to exist. And as such I was forced to use borderless window, which does exactly what you describe. So I double checked and it was there. Other wise you can force fullscreen in the userini file.
Fullscreen mode = 2

This is the proper answer. I just did that and it helped after the game restart. Thanks my man!
