how to get to kaer morhen

im trying to collect some witcher gear but its located at kaer morhen and it not letting me fast travel there

kaer morhen is quite far in you need to do velen novigrad and skellige first

there is a scavenger hunt for lvl 14 at kaer morhen
skellige island has lvl requirement @ 16


why would it be lvl14 quest thing if you cant get there at that level anyway

You could ignore all the side quests and only do the main quests. After White Orchard it is possible to begin in Skellige, although Yen doesn't appreciate you coming to Skellige without having pursued the leads in Novigrad and Velen. Developers have meticulously accounted for players not doing things in order, which could explain the level requirement in Kaer Morhen.

Without spoiling much, Kaer Morhen becomes accessible after finishing Velen, Novigrad and Skellige. Gathering all the clues will lead you towards a task that should be performed in the fortress.

im pretty much all over the place
almost level 30
didnt care much for witcher gear before now

last main story stuff i did was getting the uroboros mask with yenn and checking out the forest that got destroyed from the magic explosion :

In that case, the only thing missing should be going to Hindarsfjall with Yen and playing the last Ciri sequence. That's when Kaer Morhen gets into question.

The level given for the Witcher Treasure Hunt quests are usually the levels you need to have for the item you can craft with the diagrams you find. So, it sounds like you'll want to immediately look for the upgrade diagrams by the time.

You'll get to a point in the game where it warns you about progressing into the story further....this is around when it happens. You can fail a couple quests if not completed prior to progressing through that point so make sure you do those first!

In order to get to Kaer Morhen you first have to, complete most of the main story, eventually, there will be a quest, requiring you to go to Kaer Morhen. At least, that's what I know.
