3080 and OLED? Here are my tips to get a locked 40hz RT experience
Use CRU to add a 40hz mode to your screen.

Mod the game to use 40fps with in game frame limiter (very important! do not use other limiter tools or nvidia control panel, MOD the game to get smoothest possible). The display.xml file in bin\config\r4game\user_config_matrix\pc\ find the FPS Limit attribute and add your own entry

Set everything to High/Ultra (No Ultra+). Pay special attention to VRAM. You may only have 10GB, in which case run the textures on at most High.

Grab RT optimized quality mode mod from nexus.

DLSS to balanced or performance at 4k.

Enjoy game with RT at locked 40fps on 3080*

If you cant get a 40hz mode working, you can do the same with 30hz.
Don't bother going higher unless you want to deal with stutters and dips in the big cities due to CPU bottlenecks

* Assuming your CPU is up to it

Much better to play without ray tracing or at a lower resolution than to play below 60 fps.

Or just play the old version of the game at a buttery smooth 120hz on your oled.

There isn't a CPU in the world that can run this game at a locked 60 with RT on. So for people who want to keep the setting on who dont have frame generation, this will help them get to 40 at least.
Your comment has no value.

Not sure why you need 120hz in a single player 3rd person adventure RPG but ok thanks for your non contribution.

Clearly playing at 30fps is a much better solution. You got it bruh

If you play at less than 60 fps on an RTX 3080 (and an OLED monitor) you have way more money than brains. You're wasting a ton of money on a bad experience and it would be dumb for anyone to follow your "advice".

Uhhh, GPU is responsible for RT, not CPU... just saying...
https://developer.nvidia.com/discover/ray-tracing

So, yeah, your comment back at you...

The game is bottlenecked by the CPU with RT mode on, this has been well established for weeks now. Digital foundry even mentioned it in their video. Please refrain from commenting if the contents of this thread doesn't apply to you.

How dare you say this. He came up with a groundbreaking solution to lower fps and lower graphics settings in a game. Something that has never been done before. Without his smart brain, PC gaming would no longer be possible. 🙃

Some people don't know about CRU, the mod on nexus, or that there is a vsync issue also present in the game preventing a smooth experience unless you mod the in game limiter. In fact the game right now with RT on is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ minefield of problems, so yeah... keep embarrassing yourself

All jokes aside though, let him enjoy the game how he wants even if it is at 30fps or 40fps. Let's not bully him too much over it. 😂😂😂

40 fps? What is this, 1990's? My OLED TV puts out 4K HDR image at 120hz, there is no way I'm going to sacrifice that many frames just for some poorly implemented visual effect.

And yeah, I'm playing Cyberpunk at 4K/120Hz perfectly fine on my 3090. The drop in performance in W3 is most likely a matter of badly coded update.

Not saying 40fps is acceptable but nvidia control panel has an option to limit frames to whatever you want without a third party program like cru or messing with in game options. Well documented problems with using the in game fps options.
