Witcher sense not working

so I just recently bought the game after having played it on my account from someone elses steam library and I continued my save file but my witcher sense doesnt work at all I dont see any way to remap my controller to see if it will work on any other button has anyone else has this issue is there anything I can do to fix it or should I see if starting a new save or using mouse and keyboard works?

right click game in library. manage > controller layout. the click edit layout. if youy have a xbox controller you can also use the xbox controller app to change layout.
