useful tip - Turn on enemy upscaling
so, there is this very cool setting hidden under gameplay section which makes enemies same level as yours. This only applies to enemies under your level, which means now a level 5 enemy will drop loot and experience equal to an enemy if he was at your level. This is a quick way to get rich, since most weapons are higher level now, and there sale value is generally 2-4x times higher. The combat is also similar, it will mostly take few extra hits to kill them.

yes, i love making level progression meaningless by making every enemy my equal at all times.

sure, if you're into that go ahead, but this ain't no tip

Yeah im playing on Death March with Upscaling, only turned upscaling off when dealing with monsters under water, those were designed to only take 1 - 2 crossbow bolts to kill, with upscaling you need about 5 - 7 bolts to kill them and you get no xp from those monsters.

The setting isn't "hidden", it's right where it should be. One should always spend a few minutes checking out all the settings.

My thoughts exactly, BUT, it is a nice game feature/player choice to have.
Perhaps a useful tip for new players, but can't recommend the "get rich quick" mentality :D

Upscaling enemy it's a good things, because in every map you will go the enemy will be an hard fight since they have the same lvl as you :D If you play on Death March you should do this, so every enemy could be your last one xD

I am using this on death march but find it pretty pointless because of what Kurai mentioned. Yea it gives it more of a challenge but when you are just killing things outside of doing a quest it gets a bit annoying.

On the other hand, it means nearly every single enemy will require the exact same amount of effort to defeat, regardless of how powerful you are.

Running around one shotting enemies gets boring, atleast with upscaling you always have a challange. Enemies give you more xp aswell with upscaling.

Running around with every enemy at the same level as you also gets boring.

Guess it depends on play style, right? No correct answer, no sense in trying to convince one or the other your way is the only way, because, IT ISN'T... Again, a nice dev feature to include in a game, but I do not use it.

If you are a noob that like bullying enemies in wheelchairs, sure go for it. But real witchers fight fair.

Indeed. Unfortunately, not everyone seems to share that philosophy of not shaming others for preferring/having a different playstyle.

I tend to upscale on my new game plus play through when i have to level erondite. The two work together and of course I play that second play through on Death March.

How did you make out with 'enemy upscaling' in Dark Souls series? Just curious, talk to me about your experience and I'll share mine playing Prepare to Die Edition (PTDE) from the early days.
