The author's sword mods are. I honestly haven't tried the lightsaber one yet. It replaces the axe sounds to so it even sounds like a lightsaber.
It does make the guards a bit more plausible -- they're now quite killable rather than being artificially always considerably above your level, and they also tend to attack if they see you looting containers that don't belong to you. I think they used to auto-level enough to get whatever extra bonuses came with being overleveled enemies (said bonuses are also gone, so it's much more doable to fight enemies that are 15 levels above you or w/e, at least once your build gets going).
I use nexus mode 90% of the time. I know nothing about steamdeck though.
