I feel zero sympathy for Anna
She and the Baron are both terrible people and of course I'm not on the Barron's side, no excuse for domestic abuse. Yet I can't help feeling just a smidge of sympathy for the guy, while I feel none at all for Anna. Wouldn't go so far as to say she deserved what she got or anything, but yeah that's all.

Sure, who wants to feel soprry for a woman getting beaten by a drunk on a daily basis? Oh wait....

Both the Baron and Anna are victims in the situation. The Baron was a soldier fighting for Temeria and he became an alcoholic to drown the trauma. Anna found love elsewhere as the Baron became not the man she married and instead being an abusive drunk.

The story is well written enough to make you feel bad for everyone. The Baron for loosing his wife and child(s), Anna for seeing no other way out than pactising with witches of the bog and the daughter for living among total brutes his father included.

Yep, pretty sad but that's what it is.

Anna has some good hustle, she is really good at "oops I rescued her, sorry kids it is off to mutually exclusive choices land with you." by playing without a wiki open in your lap holding your hand.

Not bad for someone with literal brain damage! Gets cursed, tortured, tormented by demons metaphorical and literal. Still ends up more clever on accident than a bunch of supposedly smart NPCs dying. Maybe that is the true reason she is so divisive?

She's a total psycho because her husband who prefered booze and war over herbrutally killed her lover in front of her. That's bound to leave psychological scars.

Sure, that's her fault for not leaving, him drinking and beating her silly was totally fine.

As I saidm pretty sad to say things like that. Not that I think the Baron is the only one to blame here but he sure carry his fair share of responsabiolity on the whole ordeal.
