Skill Points capped at 3?
3 years ago back when i first played the game, i remember that I could upgrade few skill points upto Level 5. But now all of them are capped at 3. I didn’t find it mentioned in the notes. Did they really nerfed it?

They reworked skills by giving you more % buff within those 3 levels. It's actually much better now, because you can upgrade more skills and use different play styles

isn't that a bad thing though? there's plenty of mods for other games that try to restrict too much freedom in order to make distinct builds and prevent the "jack of all trade" problem. skyirm suffers from this for example.

Not for me. If i remember correctly upgrading heightened tolerance to max level meant i would no longer suffer from toxicity overdose. Now this threshold is max at 80% which used to be 100%(at level 5). Previously I could consume 4 decocting at a time. Now It's only 3.

I mean, if you had every single perk in the game unlocked, you would still have a limited amount of skill slots to put them in. Plus you still need to unlock all of those skill slots first, so not like you will be running your favorite copy/pasted from online build at level 15 either.

Granted, this is also the fanbase that acts like the Skyrim style "level scaling is for dumb babies" option is totally hardcore if you turn it on in witcher.

I don't think most people actually know what "jack of all trades bad!" or "Skyrim problems!" even means, they are just repeating it like a malfunctioning furby doll. This franchise is hardly alone in that problem, of course.

How dare you give an honest and unbiased judgment of skill changes instead of claiming literally everything is overpowered.

Heightened Tolerance was maxed with 5 points, but each point was 5% increase to the threshhold. Also the threshhold started at 75% instead of the current 50%.

Now with the 3 points you get more increase to the threshhold, but by default the base one was reduced. These changes alongside Acquired Tolerance nerf which was 1 point of increased Toxicity to 0.5 have been made to nerf Euphoria builds.

With the change to Acquired Tolerance getting you less increased points to Toxicity, they also reduced the Decoctions Toxicity amount from 70 to 50, except for Basilisk one remaining 40. With the current state, Metabolic Control becomes a more "valuable" skill to slot in just to get higher Toxicity and allow for 3 Decoctions without crossing the 80% threshhold if you also have Heightened Tolerance equiped and no Manticore set pieces on. Alternatively, if you do not care about that threshhold, you'll have to use the Troll Decoction to keep you healthy while not in combat and reduce the health drain while in it.

Yeah that's what I'm doing now, using metabolic control for additional 30 toxicity.

All it means is they increased the strength of each level but lowered the max skill at 3. You will end up with more points than you need for a focused build and you will end up getting way more skills that you wouldn't necessarily use with all of the extra skill points. This means you can swap different skills out a lot more often than you previously could.

People need to understand the 3 points now offer equal (in some cases better) total buffs than they did at 5 levels.

There is a next gen mod that allows you to enable all skills just like Slots Slots Slots used to do on mod store.

Some skills were rebalanced significantly. My understanding is that *most* of the changes listed on https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/2788/ were integrated, other than changes to runewords/glyphwords. See the section labeled "Character development".

Anyone have any idea why my skills are still capped at 5/5? There's no updates or anything for ybe game but I keep reading people have 3/3 and that sounds so much better for build diversity
