Fix for low GPU usage?
Getting GPU usage between 60-80% depending on the location with a 3080.

Does anyone have a fix for this issue?

What's your CPU usage?
Pilda Dec 23, 2022 @ 11:41pm
It's probably CPU bottleneck.

About 25-30%. I have an AMD Ryzen 9 3900X.

It's not cpu bottleneck, just game have ♥♥♥♥♥♥ optimization. Wait for patch.

Definitely, even with full usage it'll have framerates well below Cyberpunk at the same settings.

Going through DLSS settings earlier was laughable, no change in framerate and it dropped GPU usage each time. This is an awful update.

Also on a 3080 here and only having 60% of it utilised. My cpu shows only around 2% (running on an i9 10900KF)

How are you measuring usage? Just Task Manager data?

CPU bottleneck due to bad optimalization of game. CPU simply cannot provide enough data to GPU to reach higher usage.

A CPU bottleneck would present itself with high CPU usage (100% or close) while the GPU had a lower usage. Assuming the reported CPU usage is accurate, it's not a CPU bottleneck.

To fix the low gpu usage, buy a GTX 760 and it will be fully utilized...

Imagine complaining that a beast gpu got low gpu usage on a game that can't max it out. If you have problems with it getting underclocked during low gpu usage. Just go to nvidia panel and have it on high performance.
If your problem is only that you don't like it on low usage. Then download damn FurMark and melt your gpu to 100% on witcher.

It's because the game is very single-threaded. 20-30% of your CPU is the max it can use, you could overclock your CPU to relieve some bottleneck, or wait for more optimisation.

Nah, CPU usage on MSI Afterburner.
