Do I need to know the lore to enjoy?

I actually have all the Witcher games from a bundle I got, but the earlier ones leave something to be desired graphically these days. Do I need to know the lore from them to properly enjoy 3?

No. You need to know what medieval and fantasy is. Then enjoy.

I started on my Witcher journey with this game. Fell in love with it and found out it was based off the books, so I picked em up and read em. 15/10 best book series ive ever read.

to be fair, I think most people started with Witcher 3. It is pretty popular so I'd say no.

The books consist of 15 short stories written over a period of 8 years plus 5 short novels written after that when the series started to become popular. So you don't really need to know much before entering the Witcher world because each story is pretty self contained. The whole thing is more like Adventures of the Witcher Geralt as told by Dandelion. Perfect for a TV series, which is sadly being ruined as I write this. The games are quite faithful to the books and the character, while the TV series is going the way of everything that Hollywood touches. If you're going to watch the series then do it after you play the games.

No you do not.

Just play the games. Play them based upon their own merits, not what they should or should not be based on lore outside the game. Trust me you will enjoy the game much more if you are not distracted by arguments you have with yourself over things like, "Hair should be this color instead of this."
