Auto Save not working
I just downloaded this onto my PC - and I note that the auto save function is not working - I have it set for every 5 mintues but I only see my manual saves - I do not even see the normal auto game saves (i.e after completing something etc.) Seem to only work if I go the menu and do a manual save - and pressing F5 it says game has saved but it hasnt? Any ideas

try steam verify game files at least?

neither steam nor the game installer nor the game make any changes to windows security.

check antivirus log? might be blocking game/game launcher.
check windows security/controlled folder access.
if on add exceptions for game launcher/game.

game launcher needs to create folder
Documents\The Witcher 3
folder should contain files input.settings and user.settings and after game starts your gamesaves folder.

if these files are missing also besides no saves
running Windows One Drive? One Drive moves the ini/preference files to the one drive.
modify one drive to exclude the game folder.

mods? mods cause all kinds of issues.

f5 is just a quicksave and overwrites the last quicksave you made. to load it you press f9.

If you are looking in the "Save Game" menu option, you will only see manual saves. Looking at the "Load Game" menu will show you all the saves you have, auto(max of 5 autosaves I think), manual saves and your quicksave.

Thank You - I did notice this when I went to Load that I could see the quick saves and auto saves - the reason why I thought they were not working is cause I died and went back further then I thought - i.e I am sure I did a quick save and had auto save on for every 5 mins. I have not died again yet, so will see what happens and then I guess if I do not spawn back to where I thought I should be can try then loading a more recent save.

Yep I've done it before in several games lol. That's why I thought of it, although it might seem simple, it's kinda confusing not seeing all the saves you made at first glance.
