If you don't have it installed yet, you should wait for the patch. Fresh install aside, it'd be much more efficient that waiting for the game to install first and then for the update afterwards.

Maybe because the update will end up being a virtual re-download of the game. Seen that kind of thing before.

Simply because the update will overwrite files that you download before. Even if it is just one the more efficient way is wait for the update.
Because downloading a file that will be overwritten later is pointless.

Game on PS5 is about 50.7GB in size. On PC it should be a little more than that.

As a rule, downloading is faster than updating. But tomorrow, imho, it will make no difference, because there will be a full house. I wouldn't be surprised if there will be under a million players after the patch.

Yes that makes sense :D I was hoping we could pre download the patch but to no avail.
