No idea where you got your info, but it's plain false... my own install runs perfectly fine at 3440x1440 @ 100 Hz @ 97 FPS (G-SYNC).
You do of course need to hex the .exe for Ultrawide, but then, as I said, it runs perfectly fine with zero glitches even.
EDIT:
And here's proof, at least of the Ultrawide bit, heh:

Well that's false.
No it isn't.
I've had an Ultrawide monitor since 2018, and most of the games I've played since then either needed Hexing or Flawless Widescreen.
Eh I really don't care enough to argue it, but it's obviously dependant on what games you play. Most of my library supports it.
Mine too brother
Well this says more about you than the games.
TW3 have always supported 21:9 natively.
Only minor issues are some menus, such as the main menu, are still in regular wide screen, so black borders at the side (although mouse still moves over those areas, so game is still outputting at Ultrawide). And cut scenes have a bigger border. Neither of which are game breaking or bothered me enough to do anything about it.
But the actual game screen, where you'll be 99%+ of the time, works just fine in Ultrawide.
TW3s frame rater limit was set to 60 FPS (to match my old monitor), but moving this all the way to the left sets this as unlimited and in game riding around was hitting around 125 FPS.
Legacy vanilla W3 version has black bars for most of the time you're playing it; all dialogues, all cutscenes are black bars.
Nope. Not in cutscenes and dialogues which is like half the game.
That is weird - which Version? I always had to mess with it (Steam Version) and needed 3rd Party Tools or Hex Edits in order to get it to work. And I am not talking about Cutscenes, but the general game. And every patch broke it. So I never finished it.
Maybe the GOG Version is different (most fixes worked only for one or the other since the .exe is different due to Steam DRM I guess).
In any case, I hope there will be an improvement tomorrow - maybe Cutscenes and Dialogue in 21:9 as well
