You can find the list of mods they tested and more information regarding mods in the new update here:

I didn't know about this list, thank you so much
They barely tested any mods at all, here's the list;
https://cdn-l-thewitcher.cdprojektred.com/witcher3/the-witcher-3-next-gen-update-mod-compatibility.pdf
Out of 71 mods, they tested 38 of them to be working & the other 33 are not compatible. They tested 71 mods...out of over 5,000+ mods. The update literally adds 5 community made mods.....that's it. Breaking over 5k mods just to add Ray Tracing & the most generic of mods baked into the game is not worth this update & all of the hassle it will cause to gamers that have mods currently installed or to the modders that will have to update all of their work.
They should just release a beta branch version for those (like myself) that DON'T want their game broken after 6+ years.
Your game isn’t going to break due to an update, your mods might but not the game. Mods get patched, you can wait a day or two for that.
That's not how the mods work, there are mods that are dependent on the game save itself. So those of us that have working mods right now won't even be able to load the game save without crashing & will also be forced to either wait for every single mods we already have installed to be updated, or wash away all of the mods & start a new game save with vanilla settings.
So it will literally break the game, guaranteed because it's happened before when you remove a mod & then your game save can't load anymore.
Most mods won’t break your save file though so you should be fine. So you won’t have to wait long.
2 game versions would be ideal but this doesn’t seem to be the case.
Yes it WILL break the game, I know from personal experience. Gwent mods in fact WILL destroy your game save along with several others & not allow for it to work if you try to remove it...or if the mod breaks due to an update.

Thank you so much, I was looking for this
Damn now I'll have to repair my weapons like Henry of Skalitz...... oh well.
I wonder how much of an improvement the 'High Quality Faces' mod will make. Are CDPR not making any improvements themselves along these lines ? Curious.
I wonder if CDPR will turn off the never-ending hurricane that continuously bends the trees over.
Also, do you guys think texture mods will be alright? Shouldn't be that big of a deal right?
some textures mod are implemented in the update. like Reworked Textures and Nitpick Mod.
Other were tested from CDPR and compability varies. Young Geralt works fine, but Yen/Ciri/Triss 4K textures don't have lipsync.
Please see the list shared above for more information.
