How to draw sword in the midst of combat
So I had to switch sword at one point and then I ended up fistfighting 3 wraiths in a corner, spamming '3' key didn't help. It seems drawing swords is like checking your notifications on your phone, you have to first stand, look unbusy, unlock, swipe, whatever, ah there it is, there's the sword.

Where, when, how, how many hit of the key, etc. do I draw my c sword very quickly?

On PC swords are bound by default to: 1 - steel, 2 - silver. Only one press is needed to draw a sword. A second press is to sheathe.

Unless you have changed your key bindings, no wonder, cuz the '3' key doesn't DO anything...you only have 2 swords :P
In any case, it has happened to me too, trying to switch swords, but double pressing in hurry and ending up fistfighting a horde of <insert enormous monster breed here>. You do need to keep your calm and give Geralt a second to sheathe his previous sword before unsheathing new one. It does feel a little clunky, but I wouldn't want it to be changed, because it's realistic.

Well it's definitely not the Arma of swordsmanship but I get that those actions would be slow to perform in real life. And I did hit 3 by mistake, then 2 worked better but I hit it repeatedly and it ended up later unsheathing the sword but sheathing right after. I need to learn all animations by heart because if I get hit there's an animation, if I punch, there's another, etc.

Here's the deal with realism: if I hit a key for a flash and if I don't see the expected action happen on screen, I get a total disconnect. I'm back on my couch, being me and not Geralt, and I have to see what CD Projekt Red thought deemed an OK piece of computer code that they're not hiding very well. Difficultty is immersive, but to feel the computer code getting in the way is unimmersive.

What would have been better is a hold key with some sort of hint that it's gonna take a certain amount of time. In real life you don't need hints, you know how long it takes for you to do something, in a game you need a hint to know what timings your "avatar" is affected by.

I believe the developers have played many many hours of Witcher and they can't notice those things anymore. So I have to lower the difficulty until I learned all the animations...

Yeah, there's an action queue, but also a delay. Just make sure to press the button you want only once, and to wait until after the 'after-delay' of the previous action passes as well, such as casting Aard.

Remembering that there is an action queue will help you a lot in the long run, and prevent many, many death-causing mistakes.

Thank you! :) I will learn that and get used to it

To be honest, Nicky, I'm unable to understand what you are talking about. If I press "1", then Geralt begins to draw his steelsword immediately, and I watch the animation and see when he is ready. After sheathing the sword (again "1") Geralt draws his silversword ("2"). All this could happen in realtime (if someone is as skilled as a witcher).

This happens in a combat situation as well:

Can you explain what you meant pls?
