Game Breaking Bug with Possession Quest in Skellige
While completing the Possession quest with Cerys in Skellige, I chose to try to trick the Hym and follow Cerys' plan to throw the baby in the oven. Because of this, Udalryk has his 3 guards fight me. Because during the quest I could only incapacitate 2 of the 3 guards before going to a cutscene, upon completing the quest I was stuck in combat with the 3rd guard. This bug would prevent me from drawing my weapon, saving, or meditating.

To fix the bug I had to use the developer console command "killall" while fighting the guards when I reloaded my save. This made all the combatants be incapcitated instead of just 2, meaning I wasn't stuck in combat after the completion of the quest.

Just posting this for general awareness or to let anyone else who is experiencing this problem know of a temporary fix.

Damn I love you McRelon. This bug had my stymied for hours, and none of the other "fixes" worked, but this one did. Thanks a million.

Also, BuzzardBee, your smug certainty is completely wrong. While reloading a previous save did clear the bug, it reemerged each and every time the quest was retried, no matter the number of other quests and activities that I completed before coming back to it.

I found another way past this bug. If you kill the men without your sword (signs) it won't bug out. Or at least that is how I got past it. The console mod isn't updated so I couldn't use "killall".

I was being smug by stating a fact? Once a save preserves a glitch, reloading it won't remove it. How the frak is that being smug?

Jeez, go to hell. I'm tired of this BS. I try to help and I get slammed for it. F uck you and I hope something else breaks for you that has no remedy.
Buzzard wasnt being smug, you are just being a a sshat.

Another way I found to fix this issue was to fast travel back to Velen. Upon reaching Velen, I was able to save, draw my sword, etc.

everyone forgets that running away from a fight is always an option in this game.

I got the same bug, can't use weapon, saving, or meditating. At the same time I don't mod console command due to not work in new version, so I solved this by:
teleport to another different map other than the map that I'm in, for example from Skellige (where the bug start) teleport to Vizima, White Orchard, or Velen and Novigrad, and the bug is no more.

I did the same cause I know it could fix the Bug, but when I try traveling to Kaer Morhen... the game crashes, and I was so tired when I discovered that I lost 1 hour of game.

Yeah, cause i tought that game won't let me save cause i was jumping or something like this and i continue playing the game normaly, after that I discovered that it was a real problem I try the fix...I know that the game wasn't saving for 1 hour, and i know that if the game crashes it will be a disaster... but i try... it was a big mistake...

Then your game is bugged and I suggest verifying the game cache. Smug certainty comes from listening to children whine about issues that the rest of us have been dealing with for months since the game first came out.

I tried to be helpful and you slap it back in my face. I hope your game remains f*cked now, prick.
Is there a reason you are spamming in every thread here and calling everyone children not considering that many here could be much older than your self? Is that something to boost your own ego?

Thank you! this fixed the problem straight away, my last save was an autosave just before the encounter and the other was a little ways back.

everybody else arguing on the thread, calm down :wololo: a fix has been found :wololo:

Side tip for the dev console if the "mod" ever breaks again:

You can just add "DBGConsoleOn=true" to the general.ini file in [GOG location]\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\bin\config\base
DVendy Feb 12, 2017 @ 8:12am
Or, you can go the witcher way by killing the Hym :steamhappy:
