Cat's cheap like Quen and they both detract from the dungeon crawling experience as far as i'm concerned but using a torch is just counter intuitive because it barely puts off any light and actually darkens the area outside the lightsource. I'd rather have proper immersive lighting.

How can brewing a potion be "cheap" and detract from the Witcher experience when Cat is one of THE signature potions? It even gets used in the Witcher 1 intro cinematic.

I for one agree with OP, vanilla lighting sucks in many places and while there are a bunch of Reshades that make the lighting grim and different, there's no mod right now that merely focuses on making lightsources brighter. In many indoor areas that would be a godsend. Super Turbo Lighting Mod ( http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/657/? ) does it, but it messes with a lot of other stuff that's actually handled better in vanilla.
