Cannot enter crows perch

I cannot for the life of me get inside this castle! I havent found the old man and when I google, I found there is an alternative route, so I went there, but its all blcked by stupid debree and I cant go in trough the well!


How do hell do I get inside this castle? Been trying for 2 hours now and I cant find anything!

It doesnt sem to work :/ Like there two guards there stading talking about the wood! This is the only frustrating part about this game so far!

Oh, wait. I misunderstood. Rightio. The old man is kinda halfway between the gate with the guards and the entrance to the town. He's sitting down, bickering usually. Once you talk to him, you should be free to go through the secret entrance.

There is no old man because I was friednly to the bandits, I also wasnt interrupeted when I got to their castle gates! So basically I am stuck :/ and this stupid debris is blocking the secret passage there too!

There's a cave to the West, you can swim through. I think you might have to dive and swim through an underwater cave to get past the part where you were blocked... it's been a while.

I know there is a cave to the west ;) Its were I am trying to get in, but for some reason the entrance is blocked and there two guards there talkig about it!


I went to youtube and watched a playthrough and in that one the debris doesnt exist!


Is there a minimum main quest I must do before the area opens itself to me?

Do you have the quest telling you to visit the Bloody Baron at Crow's Perch? If not I think you need to go to Inn at the Crossroads and talk to the innkeeper and start that questline. But again, it's been awhile. I just assumed you were trying to go there because you had the quest to do so.

It's a major location in the game and part of the main questline so it makes sense that they'd block it off if you hadn't done the prerequisite quests.

First of all - in which moment of the main story are you? You won't get inside if you don't have Barons quest active either way - there is a gate blocking entrance above and a stones blocking entrance below. Depending on the outcome in the Crossroads Inn you will either get free pass above or (in case you attacked bandits) need to find entrance below that will be open at the moment.

I went to "hearthhome" or hearthhold and am now lokking for the henrik guy. Perhaps that is why I still cant access the area?


The game doesnt tell me that since I was just out and about exploring the map and tried to get into the notice board in crow perch but couldnt :)
