What happens if you kill/don't kill the bandits at the start of Blood and Wine?
I didn't kill them because I thought stronger ones would replace them. Will I end up coming back to see the village massacred or something? What happens if you do kill them?

It didn't seem to me like not killing them was an option. You managed to get to Toussaint without killing the bandits first?

Yeah, the second yellow dialogue option allowed it to be skipped. One of the knights hated my decision and the other said the decision was wise.

Interesting. Well technically it wasn't your battle to fight so I would just roll with it and see what happens.

I will and I'll post what happens if anything. I'd like to know if anything interesting happens with your decision too.

In my case I told the knights errant that I would help them deal with the bandits. They tried the diplomatic approach, but the bandits didn't take to it. So the knights and I killed them to a man and then headed to Toussaint.

An update on my decision. So far 30 hours into the DLC and no concequences for my actions.

You must be doing something wrong. I've had three private investigators so far come to me in Toussaint asking questions about some murdered bandits in Stonecutter's Village, Velen. Turns out one of the bandits was the second cousin of a friend of the wife of a Koviri ambassador and they offered 10 crowns for whoever solves the murder.
That's just a warm welcome sent by devs. However I suggest you kill them, cause you will see some really funny moments....

I chose to not kill the bandits and that's why I haven't had that. Interesting outcome.
