I cant defeat the pirates
the pirates are level 15 while im only level 8 when i hit them i only do little to nothing on damage how the hell am i supposed to complete this?

but how am i supposed to level up when im in the middle of fighting them? return to another save??

If you have hanged man's venom, use it. Quen and Igni are your best friends. Use Quen and Igni, then get in as many hits as you can. Not to mention, bombs are a thing. Just gotta use stuff that aren't your swords mate.

If you REALLY can't advance, just turn down the difficulty, get to where you're going, and turn it back up.

If you mean the pirate attack during your boat ride to skellige, then yeah I guess load an earlier save.
Keep an eye on the lvl req. of the quest.

well, i dont have bombs or any venom or anythinga, i also have the difficulty at the lowest fml

well, i dont have bombs or any venom or anythinga, i also have the difficulty at the lowest fml

Do you have Tawny Owl? If so, use that, then just spam Quen along with Aard and Igni. Signs are your best friend.

I did it at level 5. There was a friendly NPC on the ship that was invincible, I just kited the enemies to him. It still took over 20 minutes, and a lot of Quen spam.

To add onto your post, yeah, really, you can do that as well. Just use Quen and stay alive long enough for your friends to do all the work.

Axii does wonders against humans. Just stun them with it and you just might oneshot them. Igni spam too. Burn them all!

Thanks, i did what you said and now they're dead :D i thought i was the last friendly left, but i just completed that part

Igni is one of the best signs and I'm surprised more people don't use it. It's especially helpful agaisnt crowds.

i used it against them but it did nothing...

It's also really powerful against say like Leshens. Just stack some sign intensity and it will really tear their health down.

If you haven't upgraded the sign in your Character development then it probably won't be very strong. Remember that this game is all about preparing.

I'd REALLY reconmend you look up and invest in some potions, oils, and bombs. You seem like you could benefit from some extra damage.
