Found him myself. Try two things, fast travel to a different continent and also try mediating for 2-3 days of time. See if it resets his inventory.

I do not understand the purpose of this "guide".

That serves to tell you how many left, to be useful should give you a clue of who has, I tells me that I need one in the islands, seriously?

As if I said that I miss 10, and toured the islands for a long time, I will not revisit sequence each character to get a letter.

To ppl who say this guide is "fail"( idk either because i can't test it now but i have a clue):

When you bought the book and read it, it will display the location and number of cards that you missed, then open your MAP, look at it and you will see some new '!' icons appear, that's maybe are those cards you missed, like i said above, i can't test it now.

My book say i missed 2 in Velen( i already clear all the '!' quest in Velen and 1 of them have bug not vanish after completed, look at the picture i post above) then i open my MAP and see 2 new '!' icons, that's why. Sorry for my bad english!

it's really interesting. I fast travelled to skellige, meditate for 4 days, then went back to the shopkeeper. Still no book. Is it a bug or something? I'm annoyed now :D

Ok, I was wondering where this book was. I'm finishing up Skellige, so it'll take a while to get it.

Can't you also get it from the Gwent tutorial teacher ?
Doesn't he stay at the Inn in the starting zone ? I haven't been there in ages so i can't recall.

Also I forgot about this book, going to that merchant first and see if it's there for me.
