Neither. Pick a build, and get one of the Witcher Blades. Thats it.
I don't really know what that means, could you explain?
(Yes, I'm a noob, this is my first Witcher game and I have just played with the gear I've gotten from loot of quests)

It means that you can choose the build you want for Geralt, magic focused, fast attack focussed, potion focussed, etc...
I don't really like to play that way because everything gets way more monotone and you end up becoming extremely overpowered; just play the game like you've done so far.

Hm, okay. Do you know if I should use Sword from the Bits or the Winter's blade?

Ok... There's Witcher Gear sets, all through out the game. There's Wolven, Hircine, Cat, and Griffon. Each set is a full armor piece, with 2 swords. Each one caters to a particular build. Griffon = Magic, Hircine = Heavy Combat, Cat = Quick Combat, and Wolven = Balanced.

The swords are the best in the game, so there's no reason to not get them, and stick with em.
But where do I get them?

I don't remember those swords so i don't really know unfortunately. What stats do they have?

As for those gears, you will either find them by pure luck while you explore or you will buy/drop some notes that will start some "Treasure Hunt" quests that will lead you to this equipment.

The winter's blade has 11 less damage, but it has: 40 more armor piercing, 5 more critical hit damage and a 10% chance to freeze

Then use the winter's blade, unless the other one has some crazy bonus.

You craft them after finding the plans. The plans are hidden in various places (you can look up the locations in a guide if you really want).
