Horse walking speed for keyboard vs gamepad
Ive finished the game using keyboard 98% of the time. The only time ive used the gamepad was in the beginning then quicky realized that gaming with the keyboard is better for my style. Numerous patches have been released and that included the horse stuttering issue noted before. But that isn't my question. My question is there a way to apply the "slowest" trot or walk while on horseback using keyboard and mouse? is there a mod for this? I am aware that there are 4 speeds while riding roach.

Slow walk/trot - using gamepad and moving it a quarter forward will activate this
Normal trot/prance - moving gamepad or W key forward
Fast trot - holding shift once. This is also the auto pathing key
Gallop - Pressing shift twice for full speed.

I know there was also a release or a mod (correct if im wrong) for geralt's waking speed. Which they reduced - was this implimented on the movement option? does alternative waking option apply this? I cannot tell, can someone please verify.

For the horse speed, Is there a key or also mod for this? I would really like to use the Slow walk/trot on keyboard and mouse via toggle or what not. Only the normal trot or prance is available via keyboard. Yes, I know, why not just use the gamepad if im dying to use this feature...again, I am aware of this just curious if there is a work around.

thank you.

here's an idea of what im talking about

Your thread is confusing? What do you want to use exactly?

Sorry for the confusion, I would like to use the keyboard and mouse but with the feature of the slowest walk speed. Unfortunately, it can only be available using a gamepad.

I thought it was pretty clear. Unfortunately, I have no suggestions as to the solution. I have never used a gamepad with this game so I was not even aware of these other speeds.

Have you tried using a gamepad again after the patch that changed Geralt's speed? Are you still able to move at the 4 different speeds?

Yes, all 4 walk speeds for Roach are still available via gamepad. For Geralt, his walking for me is still the same...too fast. There was a mod for him to walk much slower but was removed eventually by the modder. I have no probs with geralts walk speed, Ive pretty much accepted it despite it being too fast like he's in a hurry(plenty of posts about this issue) This was also changed a few patches ago making him even walk faster. The reason I mentioned this is because I was not sure about the "alternative movement" toggle can or may have affected geralt's walking speed.

My main concern is Roach. On how I can achieve the slowest trot speed using keyboard since only the gamepad allows you this feature.

What speeds are you able to achieve with kb/m? Right now I am able to press "W" and go at the slowest speed possible. I can then press shift once, hold, and then I will trot and also auto path, and then gallop with double shift. So in total 3 speeds with kb/m. Is the "W" speed the slowest one, or were you able to go even slower with your gamepad?

There is a fourth speed which is the slow walk for roach via gamepad. It is much much slower than toggling the "walk" option and pressing W via keyboard. You gotta try it bud, using a gamepad. Its a bit weird if you are used to the kb/m but i dunno..im just being nitpicky about it but its really a cool feature to have in kb/m. The slowest walk its literally a slow walk while riding roach.

I feel like the normal slow walk is already so slow. Any chance you could upload a clip of it?

Or I could not be lazy and look for one but... who knows when that will happen.

Nice, wish you didn't need a gamepad for it. I would imagine that the Ctrl key would achieve this but it doesn't seem to do anything :(

yea its a huge difference. ill probably play with gamepad for blood and wine just for the change of things lol.

I'm wondering if there is a tweak to add the command.
3jack May 30, 2016 @ 4:37am
well the new patch just kicked in and seeing the patch notes, I dont see anything about this. I guess people aren't bother enough lol. A tweak command would be awesome tho

Bro all the movement command are in the setting menu check if there is such command in the movement menu if there aren't such command then I don't think there is anything you can do about it maybe use mods
