Keyboard Problem
I'm posting here because it only happens on this game. When I'm playing my keyboard will randomly shut off, back on, and when it's on again it doesn't respond until I manually unplug the USB from the case and re-plug. Changing where I plug it (from USB 2 to 3, for example) doesn't make a difference. What am I missing?

Does the game say anything about Keyboard detected or Controller detected when it shuts off and on? There might be something that conflicts with what is primary used. Maybe a software or a controller that is plugged.

Op problem seems to be different as I have a controller, keyboard a mouse plugged in no conflict at all

There is virtually no message. I have a LED-lit keyboard so I see it flickering off, coming back on and being dead.

Again - no other game or application does this so it's extra confusing why it's only in Witcher 3.

(I have nothing plugged into the keyboard either).

Do you by chance happen to be using a logitec G19 ?

OK well reason i asked is for my G19s (also led lit KB with lcd display) the keyboard has a witcher 3 applet which causes an error for me and makes the KB go into a fit until i worked out the issue and had to delete the KB applet for witcher 3 from the logitech software.

On a sidenote ive had nothing but issue with led-lit keyboards, had a G15, G19 and Saitek Cyborg. All while looking fancy as all hell have only ever given me grief in one form or another.

Control Panel--->Power Options---->Change Plan Settings---->Change Advanced Power Settings----->USB Settings---->USB Selective Suspend Settings------->Setting--->Disabled

Also, i'd suggest going to Control Panel > Device Manager > Keyboard > Select Keyboard (might be named HID Complient Keyboard) > Right Click > Properties > Power Management > Untick (Disable! ) the option that allows windows to disable said device to conserve energy.

it just disables your USB devices after a period of time in order to save energy. no harm can come from this.

no problem! =]

*Edit - if you continue to have these issues i'd suggest uninstalling the SteelSeries / Apex drivers completely and try using the generic keyboard drivers Microsoft gives you. that way you can rule out a driver issue.

Problem persisted. So not Microsoft drivers.

No driver options have worked, the USB sleep mode thing has not worked. It usually doesn't happen til an hour or so into gameplay. Very frustrating.
