Olgierd is obviously a criminal scum, he did all the bad ♥♥♥♥ you can imagine to people, also remember his brother. Both don't care a bit for everyone and would kill a person to get what they want. Oh yea, don't forget that Olgierd with his gang simply took over a house making a daughter of the owner so serve them. And burned the place to the ground afterwards.
And O'Dimm is way too ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ powerfull thing, whatever he is, a demon, a satan, whatever. you don't wanna ♥♥♥♥ with him trying to save Olgierd. I know you can easily help Olgierd and defeat O'Dimm, but this outcome didn't make much sense to me in regards of story.
The thing i like about CDPR is that by the end of this DLC on one hand you feel sad for a criminal piece of ♥♥♥♥ Olgierd, but on the other hand your voice of reason is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Satan. And somehow you may feel that helping one of them means doing the right thing.
Siding with Olgierd gives good loot too. His Iris sword is magnificent at making those annoying shield enemies drop their shields in one heavy strike.
And i kinda felt sorry for Olgierd in the end.
From a loot point of view, siding with Olgierd gives you the chance to get the Viper school silver sword. :-P
The whole walkthrough
Question's whether Olgierd got corrupted by O'Dimm...
That said in ideal universe you'd have option not to help any or even kill both :P
Probably not, I still like him to though at least on NG, because the rewards for saving him don't last very long, but if you let him get taken you can get the best saddle in the game that turns Roach black and it remains useful forever, so I like to go with that option and reward instead at least once.
PS. You get nice phat loots either way (And watch for the Viper Silver Sword in the Stone bro).
I've sided with Olgierd both times myself; but i know how both end...
Iris is a great Steel Sword.
PS. I treat Olgierd in the same light as Philip Strenger:
Methinks, "Maybe now you'll right some other wrongs as Pennance for your serious Derp".
PPS. The first time I did the T. Prince fight, and those Ofieri dudes on the beach was a ♥♥♥♥♥ (Deathmarch).
