why wear them at all? becuz it looks cool? or afraid of falling stones or arrows that never seem to connect to geralts head?

Geralt doesnt wear them because he is cool and all. Weird enough we wears armor and uses weapons when he could just swing his biological mace around.
Witchers rely on not being hit, that's why they drink potions that increase reflexes, slow metabolism... But this is a game so they had to put armor in it. But I think helmets would be too much and break immersion at least to me.
I'm almost 100% sure this's compromise voted in by monster community of Witcher 1 & 2 & 3 :) And the ladies. Too much protection'd be just unfair and stuff plus block view. Hairdressers Cartel'd have word or two as well about helmets.
There is no real reason to not wear helmets. FFS even in the World Wars people didn´t use body armor but STILL used helmets. It´s just stupid.
Every time I see you trying to defend this I want to puke.
The game isn´t about stealth, it´s about killing things head on so the thing about sound is ridiculous. I also like that you forget that plate or chain mails ALSO MAKE NOISE
