monster den in skellige not clearing( the icon not turning to grey, stays in white color) after killing all monsters and grabbing all treasures...

so there is this monster den in the swamp area of skellige north west of fyresdal and east of an abandoned town up the hills where you will see a cockatrice or a basilisk i can't remember, the monster den has a story about a jarl thinking that his son has turned into a nekker so he had some sell swords capture the nekker and hired a mage to study on how to turn him back into a human but the mage concluded that the jarl's son is already dead and that the nekkers just sometimes use things they find as decorative for themselves so yeah i cleared the dungeon and grabbed all the loots i can find even waited for day and night and midnight to see if i missed something even killed a werewolf outside of the monster den but still the icon for the monster den is not turning to grey still as white as snow... don't know if it's a bug or something i missed, hope someone could help me cause it irritates me...

I know this is a very old post, but did you go back to the beginning of the monster den to loop a locked chest with the key on the corpse right beside the nekker warrior before climbing up ?

i am stuck witch this monster den since i finished the game more than a year ago, i cant find the save before i entered it and tried everything to mark it as looted but nothing helped. i recently downloaded the game again just to walk around but i cant look at this cave because it makes me lose my mind. i cant count how many times i have reloaded my game and walked up and down this cave from both sides and find NOTHING. this is a 0/10 game for sure and i have almost 200 hours of it

Also ran into this bug, and was able to resolve it. I imagine a few others will run into it and go looking, so here's how I did it:

I reloaded to just before finding Fornhala. I don't know if it's important, but I did loot Fornhala first, and I ignored the Draconid circling in the swamp down the hill. I then got the guarded treasure North East of Fornhala. I then immediately meditated until 11:00pm.

After that, I didn't go straight for the Monster Den, I instead went North and around the mountain to the cave entrance on the other side of the Monster Den.

I picked up all loot as I went, killed the Nekker Warrior and grabbed the key. I then killed the rest of the Nekkers, and explored all the rooms and got all other loot BEFORE unlocking the chest.

After unlocking it, I exited via the Monster Den entrance to fight the werewolf.

One thing I did note is that the Monster Den remained a question mark, right up until I exited the cave to go fight the werewolf. It was marked as complete the moment the POI was revealed.

It may be just a simple case of reloading a previous save to fix it, and there's no real method to it. That's just how I carried it out and it worked.

I had the same problem with this and I solved the problem without loading the save to the loot cave, everything turned out to be easier it turned out I was able to open the chest (near the entrance to the cave from the swamp side, which opens with a switch) again with the help, although it was not highlighted and the “E” button next to it was not lit and there were 2 runes, after I took the runes the cave was counted.
