Screen turns off after attempted fix
I've come across this bug where my monitor turns off (but I can still hear the ingame audio) a few times now and I still can't find a confirmed fix for it. The first time the monitor turned off was only a few minutes into the game, and I had to turn off the power to my pc and try again. I can't remember how but I got past the bit where my monitor turned off last time, and enjoyed the game until it happened again later on. As I've said in the title, I've tried preventing my monitor from turning off by changing the power options to never go into sleep mode, but it doesn't work. I was really hoping to find a fix because I enjoyed the game a lot, but it's almost impossible to even find a potential fix. And to prevent further damage to my pc, I'm thinking of getting a refund (not sure if I'm in much luck because I've played it for more than 2 hours and owned it for more than 2 weeks). But I may have a slight chance because I haven't played it for 2 months due to this problem.

In short, does anyone have any fixes for the problem? Because I may have to try and get a refund if it doesn't work :/. Thanks for any advice :)

Seems like a hardware problem, not caused by the game.

I'm not sure tbh. I've heard that some people had the same problem at the same time ingame. But I'm thinking it could be a problem with the monitor because the computer was still active :c

I've had the same issue, it wasn't connected with any particular game. One time it turned out that my videocard was dying (it was really old) and the other time there was something wrong with the monitor itself so I had to send it to maintenance.

I don't think my graphics card is broken because it's a reasonably new gtx 970, if it was then I'd probably experience a crash rather than having the monitor turn off :/

The monitor however is how it does handle it when a card cannot handle the work load. When your PC shuts down, it tends to be due to a faulty motherboard or CPU. When it refuses to boot at all, it could be any of those or even the PSU at fault. But monitors and GPUs go hand in hand and when the signal goes through a faulty card, it will tend to shut down the monitors.

Try to run some diagnostics for your card. If it is still relatively new, check the warranty on it. It may still be valid and you may be able to get it replaced.
Thanks for the advice. I'll talk to someone I know who's better at all this tech stuff than me xD. If I have the time at least. If I get something sorted, I'll be sure to reply :D

I just asked a friend about the problem I have, and I'm not really sure what to think. My monitor has only turned off when I'm playing Watch Dogs, Total War: Shogun 2 and The Witcher 3, but every other game (also have Just Cause 3) runs perfectly fine with rarely any problems of the same kind. I should probably find some sort of tester for my graphics card just to make sure.

This happens to me if I don't touch mouse or keyboard while playing. it's a power saving mode issue, screensaver kicks in or monitor shuts down when using only gamepad. I just touch my mouse now and then to prevent this. Also i set screensaver and monitor shutdown time to 1 hour in power saving settings...
