But even more troublesome is that regeneration of completely lost organs is near impossible. Only Vilgefortz had suceeded with regards to that partly and years later Philippa Eilhart tried the same but not with any success yet.
And when did Vilgefortz turn his attention towards tissue generation? Well after the battle of Sodden hill during a portal explosion while trying to capture Ciri.
So if regeneration of eyes is a problem how more difficult would it be to recover all arms and legs.
You have misunderstood. Coral survived but with so bad injuries that she could not be recognised.
It was the real Triss Merigold of Maribor who took fireball in the face, failed her saving throw and blew up in bits.
Healers then mistakenly restored Coral with Triss' appearance.
loophole found!
jk
I get it. Ciri is hot. I wanted to see her titties too, but it would have been really awkward as Geralt. Maybe we could have gotten to mess around while playing as her. There was one close opportunity with that village boy who found her, but he got a cold shower in the form of a village raid.
The theory with Triss & Coral though, that intrigues me. Biggest thing for me with that theory is how CDPR made Triss's hair fiery red in W2 & 3 and made her eyes greenish, yet observed tons of other very specific details in the games that acknowledged the lore accurately...getting a core character's appearance so very incorrect seems unlikely to me, so it's definitely the more likely of the two, IMO.

Sorceress number 1 takes a fireball in her face and gets liquified. Who was she?
Sorceress number 2 also takes a fireball in her face but miraculously survives. But she could not be recognized either. Who is she?
"Our former appearances returned to us..."
Now who has Triss Merigold's appearance?

The sorceress who arrives Kaer Morhen at the beginning of the third book has Coral's memories from Season of Storms.
Sapkowski is clever, there never was Triss Merigold in the whole saga.
