Sidequest cutoff point *Spoilers*
Ive that towards the end of the game The siege of Kaer Morhen that sidequests become uncompletable. Can anyway comfirm this? (Excluding the expansion sidequests I think)

After kaer morhen you'll return to the world again and the story will continue. In fact there is no side quest cutoff since you return to the world even after the story ends.

Ok, cool. That's good to know. I'd read different elsewhere and it seemed odd which is why I thought I'd double check here.

With Kaer Morhen, about how much of the main quest is left after that?

~1/3

Am I able to come back to the Kaer Morhen region after the seige happens, or should I do any questing and exploration here now?

I don't think there is much quests to do in Kaer Morhen region. You can gather your first tier 1 Wolf gear diagrams but you probably have some other witcher gear already.

But sure, it will be available later for exploring as much as you like.

Cool, thankyou

There are sidequests that will fail. If you complete everything that is the main quests level or lower you should be good. Off the top of my head one quest in Kae Morhen that will fail when you start the part you mentioned is Berengar's Blade.

Easy thing to do is just make a manual save before you start the part you mentioned and see what fails.

Yeah, It was Berengar's Blade I was wondering about. Its currently about 4 levels above me which would make it quite a challenge (I'm on Blood and Broken Bones) but I will still try to tackle it before the seige then (I'm still not sure what's going to trigger that, but I'm going to assume it's completing Ugly Baby.)
