Bonus Gold, Does anyone know how it works?
I've got a Theory I have yet to test, that what it does is increase the "Bonus Amount" you can sucessfully ask for when Negotiating a Contract.

Not the amount you would recieve at the end. Like, I have a Bonus Gold Trophy +5%, and the Crafted Condittiere's Boots that give +25%.

The way I figure this works isn't like say, if you negotiate a contract for 100 crowns, you would'nt recieve 130 at the end of the contract, because I've had most of my Contracts be for 300, and I've never recieved 360 at the end. Instead I believe that it raises the Maximum "Extra Bonus" you can Negotiate for a contract by 30%

Also, I've passed it now, but, in the Cave where you get the Jade for the Runewright, there's a Hidden Treasure type quest, and the Chest Contains a Very Large amount of Gold, so, if the bonus is purely applied simply to Lootable objects, this would be an excellent spot test it, unfortunately I have no Save Files from before I completed it. T.T

I've now Tested this with both the crafted Condittierre's Boots (+25%Bonus), and the Swine Herding Trophy (+15%Bonus), as well as a few other items like Swords and such that have +% to Bonus Gold. I've tested it both on Chests that Drop large Sums of Gold, and Repeatedly tested it by Reloading Before Negotiating a Contract.

From what I've seen, the Values in both the Bonus Gold for Contracts, and the amount you can get out of a Chest of Gold, both vary widely when Reloading, and the "Bonus Gold" Percentage does not affect them.

While I've looted many Bodies with at least a +40% Bonus, the amount I got fit within the Normal Variance, and as Such, I believe this Stat to be as Worthless as the "Chance to Dismember" stat, ((which simply makes it more likely that when you land a Sword Strike that would already be enough Damage to Kill, you have a Chance, As long as the Enemy is "Humanoid", of Slicing them in half at the angle of your sword swing, which is Purely a Visual Upgrade, and DOES NOT give you a chance for an Insta Kill)).

I believe, that much like the Skill "Delayed Recovery" in the Alchemy Tree, that this Stat is Currently "Bugged", as You DO NOT seem to Recieve any additional Gold through it's use.

I would Suggest for a Trophy, that you always use a +% Monster Experience Trophy.

Until such time as they address this issue, by Fixing it to Work with All situations that "Give Gold", That is Contracts, Chests, and Enemy loot, you should Focus on another Stat.

I know some people Believe it affects the amount of Gold you get from Vendors, I've never personally seen a Difference, nor do I believe it should Function in Vendor Transactions, Since the Gold they are Offering for the Item is Based on 2 Criteria, the Base value of the item, and whether you're Selling it to the "Right" Merchant.

For Weapons, Sell to Blacksmiths. For Armor, Sell to Armorers. For Alchemy, the Very Best Prices for Ingredients is the Herbalist at the "Herbalist Hut", on the Eastern Side of the Novigrad/Velen Map.

I have'nt found a Good Merchant for "Junk" items, or Crafting Materials, but, if you Shop around, Maybe you'll Find a Vendor that will give good prices for those Items as well.

In closing, I'd like to say, that the Majority of the Gold you can get in the Game will come from selling things like Alchemist Paste, Alchemy Powder, Alcoholest, Dwarven Spirits, and Various other "Alchemy" type items, and as Stated Previously, the Best Price for these Items is at the "Herbalist's Hut" on the Novigrad/Velen Map.

Best of luck to you all on the Path. :-)

It affects haggling. While it doesn't seem to affect any other area of the game, you can haggle with people who are giving you cotracts. Wearing a full 'New Moon' set plus any of the 5% bonus gold trophies, I can definitively say that you can haggle to much higher amounts. (P.S, it's still not a decent way to earn gold and therefore I would not recommend using this but that's what it does).
