Regrets and guilt the crones of crookback bog (spoilers)
So I freed the tree spirit thing to try save the kids, I never went to see the barons daughter first before this quest and finally saved the mother from the curse but she died.

When I returned to the baron he hanged himself and a little custscene about choosing the greater evil hinted that I basically ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up. Feel like a total ♥♥♥♥ right now, the villagers, bloody baron, the kids, the mother and the barons daughter all one big mess...... Ok maybe not so much sympathy for the bloody baron.

So what happens when you dont free the tree spirit?

What happens if I went to see the baron daughter before this quest?

What happens to the children as a cause of not freeing that spirit?

What happens if you choose the wrong doll?

Please if the answers spoil my chance to kill that evil tree spirit later depending on what happen to the kids or if later at some stage I get a chance to kill those disgusting witches then avoid mentioning it please, thanks for the input.

If you don't free the spirit, the kids die, but baron's wife is alive.

If you went to see the daughter before the quest, she's going to be there when her mother dies / stays alive.

As stated in the first line, the kids die.

If you choose the wrong doll, Anna burns.

I'm pretty sure the guy specifically said not to tell him that.

If you free the spirit before you meet the crones I'm pretty sure the kids and anna live

Why does everyone keep saying the kids die? I'm pretty sure they don't die they just remain under the witches watch/control. If so, how are you all coming to that conclusion?

because the children are no longer there when you return there after not setting the tree spirit free.

Yes but you should google it. I thought I read that they simply remain the crones "pets"

IGN says they are sacrificed to the crones if you dont free the spirit of the tree
AquaPrime Aug 29, 2016 @ 1:35am
Oh. Well it could mean sacrificed into slavery. Haha!
