Silver sword progression.. ?
I crafted the Viper Silver Sword towards the end of White Orchard and am now still using it at level 10 (almost 11). It's starting to feel noticably under-powered and I'm wondering if I missed an obvious upgrade along the way, or if the game just has a serious gap in sword upgrades..

I have diagrams to craft level 12 and level 13 silver swords, but if anyone could point me to a reasonable upgrade to use until then, I'd really appreciate it.
Interestingly the swords I'll be crafting have virtually no stats on them, just raw damage (it's saying +100 damage over the Viper sword, but I'm losing a lot of Sign intensity, etc..)

RAW damage is just fine and 100 is a ton. Once you progress further along there will be set swords along with armour. Just check with all the smiths you come across for plans and maps. There are 5 diffrent sets that continue to upgrade from that point. Inbetween the major levels (16-24, etc) there are plenty of other swords to use inbetween those levels.

I remeber there being a gap inbetween viper and lvl 12-13 as well. I think I just bough a random blue swords to bump damage to help.

Also note well viper is a set. It does not have any further levels so don't be afraid to ditch it.

The real sets are bear, feline, wolf, and I forget the rest :)

Hope that helps.

Thanks. I've bought a few gear maps but haven't bothered to look into them. I assumed they would be for armour that wouldn't be any better than the lvl 10 Nilgaardian set I'm wearing.

You should be discovering, through quests and expioring gear from different witcher schools. For the most part ,this gear will compliment your armor and style of fighting. :Geralt:

You are better off focusing on the raw damage of swords in all parts of the game. Unlike the first witcher and, to an extend, the second game, signs are neither superduper OP nor strong enough to rely on as a primary method of attacking thoughout the vast majority of TW3.

at level 11 you can craft your first set of witcher gear.
just look up the griffin armor.
it should help you at the start of the game.
