Eye for an Eye Problem... PLEASE HELP

Hey all... This is super frikkin frustrating.
I am up to Brothers in Arms in the game and I've completed most of the missable quests except eye for an eye. This is an old save (as I took a break). To put it simply, Roche never shows up at Hanged Man's Tree. I have asked for his help as part of Brothers in Arms and get the "Help Roche with his Ves problem.'

There are a couple things I want to know. Firstly, how the fk do i fix this. Yes I have done the other two quests involving Djistra or whatever his name is.

Secondly, if I do not complete it. What do I genuinely miss out on in the game...

Loading an old save isnt an option unfortuntately.

Loading an old save isnt an option unfortuntately.

You should not try to continue before you complete this quest. I think it's one of the necessary quests that lead to a bigger side story, which you shouldn't miss (involving king Radovid).
Try to wait around or something, or talk to Roche again. In what stage of the quest are you exactly?

I am a fair while into the game. I've completed all the other missable quests and have done ugly baby. Now gathering brother in arms... I really want to do it but not sure how to fix it. What I find odd is that they said they patched it a year ago and no one really complains about the bug anymore... but I am not sure how to finish it. I've done deadly plot as well a long time ago.

Roche is always at his camp... behaving as normal.

I meant in what stage of the quest with Ves are you? What does it say you should do? I think you're maybe missing something or it got bugged because you completed A Deadly Plot before, a quest which requires Roach to be in Novigrad.

I really don't know what to say... you could upload the save and I'll try to look around but I'm not sure there is a fix for this. Probably you'll have to complete this side quest in another playthrough

Ok fair enough. I've heard there are later quests which are apparently quite good that cannot be done if you dont complete an Eye for an Eye though.

This is actually a pretty old bug, dating back to when the game first was released. It tends to happen if you've already done A Deadly Plot. It has to do with those internal flags in the game code that I keep bringing up. Once Plot is done, the game just doesn't know what the hell to do with Roche. It looks like the latest patch brought it back. Wondeful.

So, have you done A Deadly Plot yet? If you haven't, then go start that. It should then fix this one because the game will have found him again and it will register that he needs to be at the Hanged Man's Tree. If you have already completed Plot, then this one is screwed.

But, all An Eye for An Eye does is give you the opportunity to recruit Ves and Roche for the battle at Kaer Morhen. You can do the battle without ANY of the allies so it will not affect that quest or the further progression of the main story.

People condemn me for blasting the game's devs but their coding for the game is the worst in the world and this is a prime example of it. I just cannot understand how the defenders of this game can continue to do so with a straight face.

People are not "defending", but they are hindred by your "over the top" reaction! Sure - there are bugs, but you are overhyping the sigificance of that. Prime example: "their coding for the game is the worst in the world"... Come one, that way, way, way over the top.

Now - are you really keeping up your statement that CDPR are the worst coders in the world?
If so - I hate to say it, but then you are completely nuts...

So - use some nuance and you might even see people agree with you on some things, but as it is now.... No way..

So... on my issue. If I can't fix it, can someone confirm it's only missing out on some mates in the final battle? My concern is that I am missing out on some quality side and secondary quests if I can't complete an Eye for an Eye.

Soo trying not to give any spoilers, you will miss out on that quest you spoke to Dijkstra about while doing a Deadly Plot. Also, you will be missing some mates (Roche and Ves) in a big fight that is coming. That's about all. Oh, and an achievement, if you care about those

Ok... it appears this probably may be worse and COMPLETELY game breaking. I am trying to continue the isle of mists quests... but its still waiting for me to recruit my allies because Roche is still pending on the list. Whenever I approach Roche, he says he can't until his issues have been solved "including Ves." But given he doesnt show at the Hanged Mans Tree, I can't complete the Ves quest... any ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ideas???

If you go to the Isle of Mists, won't Roche's quest just fail? It's supposed to fail if you go there before helping him (which you can't do)
