"Be it ever so humble" glitched
This isn't essential to the plot, but it's a nice surprise. So, spoilers about the quest ahead, nerds: You don't get the event trigger of your romance partner moving in if you beat B&W before you beat the main storyline. So, the quest cannot be completed and your romance partner will never move in. Hopefully, the devs patch this. In the mean time, beat the main story before B&W so you don't experience this glitch.

why would you get that ending, when the ending of blood and wine with the companion is supposed to take place after the events of the main games story. why the hell would they patch it.

Because I've already beaten the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game once before and I didn't feel like spending 20 hours beating it again before I could experience B&W?
It doesn't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ matter what order you do them in because B&W is completely isolated from the base game story-wise. It's not an ending, it's a glitch that breaks the quest. 0/10.

no its not seperate, you can play it seperate but if you beat the main game then you get different dilogue options in both expansions. it obviously does matter if you beat the main game though because the companion varies depending on the ending you have chosen in the main game on that perticular playthrough. comprende? how hard is that to understand. they arent gonna patch nothing off it because it is not glitched.

Who said Blood and Wine is supposed to take place after the events of the main story? I can see the OP's point myself, it wouldn't take much to fix the quest to work after you finish the base game even if you played the expansion earlier.

yes but the companions you get depends on the ending you got in the main game though. how would they show up or how would the game decide what companion to give you if you didnt already beat the main game and get any of the endings.

to note 1 of the companions you get is ciri, it wouldnt make sense for her to come to toussaint when you spend the majority of the main game looking for her now would it. like if you havent found her in the main game yet but go straight to tousaint and beat the missions and do this quest for companions how would it work for her to show up? huh ?
and you only get her if you did a certain ending.

What I mean is, if you haven't finished base game, then same as now, no visitor. Once you have finished base game, the quest appears and you travel back to toussaint.

that would be counter productive as the main games story already has an epi-logue same as how this quest is blood and wines epi-logue. but like i said its not a glitch and the op is deffinatly wrong. you wont get it if you havent already beaten the main game and gotten one of the endings. there is no way around it thats how they designed it. only a small number ive seen so far complained of this and that was 2 people. just coz you didnt bother to play through the main game and finish it then beat blood and wine to get this quest done doesnt mean they have to change it to suit you.

I've done it both ways, nothing to do with me not bothering with anything.

Ok, yeah I do agree that it's not a bug/glitch, I was more thinking aloud heh. It would be good if possible.

People saying it isnt a glitch, answer me this: Why does the quest show up at all if it is not completeable? If I beat B&W, then capped off the main story (using my example, i beat B&W just before telling avellach to bring in the hunt), why does Be it ever so humble trigger upon returning to free-roam, if it cannot be completed?

The fact that it shows up with no ending trigger available tells me its bugged. If it wasnt, the quest would either finish when I arrived back in toussant, or it wouldnt trigger at all due to not having a completion condition. But it does. And it has no working completion parameter in that case. Therefore, bugged.

And, if you're right, steadmoh, and this was meant to take place aftert the main story, why does it unlock before completing said story? Why can you finish it before the main quest at all?

if you are saying you got the quest and you cannot complete it because you havent beaten the main story. then yes it glitched for you but yes this quest is supposed to come after you beat the main ending of the base game. no doubt about it, i mean its common sense look it up online videos of it look up all the dilogue and what type of companions show up depending on the ending you chose. you are just grasping at straws now man dont know what to tell you. if you wanna beleive what you beleive it to be then you go ahead. but it doesnt take a genius to figure out that the companions for this quest only show up after beating the main story of the base game. plenty of evidence points to this. in fact why dont you go ahead and ask one of the devs yourself.

The "humble" quest's diaologue include main events of the original game. So the quest clearly takes place after the main story line.
