Knight for Hire (Bug?) [Side-Quest]

For some reason the supposed leader isn't dropping the key to the cage.
It's the objective on the right side of the Casteldaccia Abandoned Estate, right under one of those 2 big rock formations with a river in the middle.

Anyone had this happen before, with this or a similar quest ?

Scrach that, I assumed the key should be on him since the loot bag was glowing red.
The key is at the middle in the platform that surrounds the tree.
