Best Grandmaster armor & weapon set for their bonus ?
So IMHO Wolven looks the coolest, especially when dyed black. But for the maximum survivability and hitting like a truck, Bear set seems btter. Although that +300 Armor pierce on the Manticore swords is awesome, too bad the Manticore set on NG Plus looks like crap lol.

personally, the grandmaster armor/ weapons are not worth getting. The best wepon is one which is earned in the Gwent Tourney, the best armor is a variation of the Toussy knight armor. Best looking one though is still the viper armor, which doesn't have a grandmaster set :V

Eh, which is the weaon from the Gwent tournament you're talking about ? And by the Toussain armors, do you mean the Armors that give a Vampiric life steal effect ?

I like non-NG manticore set the most, both look and damage wise. Extra toxicity allow you to use four decoctions at once; and with Euphoria mutation your pure attack damage will rival Cat armor. Add extra crit damage to it, Aerondith and you get most overpowered build out there.
P.S. If you want non-NG armor look in NG+, there are mods. NG+ manticore look bad.

Blave, that's the steel swords name. You earn it after winning against the player with the monster deck but only after you make a bet with them. For the Silver, Ami. I don't remember how I got it but I recall it being a award from a sidequest.

I uploaded screencaps to imgur just in-case if you wanted to see the stats. But just to be clear, these are taken from a Non NG+ save.

Agreed about AMI as best silver sword, but best steel sword is from Tesham Mutna set, imho. Otherwise I loved using both Ursine (bear) set grandmaster swords with Chest (love the look) changed to medium armor with enchanter from Hearts of Stone. Ursine has decent 3 set item bonus which procs quite often, too. Grandmaster wolf colored black does indeed look quite well, all rounder armor, always liked it the most stat and functionality wise.

You got Ami for the level 48 Witcher contract I think.

Thanks. These 2 swords and the Gwent tournament & Witcher Contract are in the Blood and Wine DLC, right ?

The bonuses for the grandmaster feline are awesome. With the full set you get +60% fast attack power for 10 seconds after every strong attack and your back attacks stun.

If you do a strong back stab then just fast attack spam the stunned enemy you can melt things down pretty quickly.

I was using the Grandmaster Wolven Gear, it may not be the best gear in the game but it's by far my favorite Witcher Set, but after finding the Tesham Mutna Armor...♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, this armor set is the awesomeness, and using with the Aerondight and Blave swords, well...let's just say that Geralt is almost a tank with this gear !!!

Pure damage wise I think that the gear from Syanna´s Wonderland is the best. The armor from there is quite nice too.

im currently using the griffin set, lets u pretty much spam signs and gives u alot of sign intensity
plus it gives u some cool stuff with yrden.

I can't bear to part with my Ursine armour, I just love the look far too much. Stained gray, the grandmaster set's red trim is perfect. Stat-wise, unfortunately the random drops that you find as loot in chests are superior to the grandmaster Witcher sets, which come with those lovely several thousand gold price tags. As for the swords, try doing the Chivalrous Virtue quests, then talk to the Lady of the Lake. The sword she gives you levels up as you do, and rewards finesse play with higher damage the longer you don't get hit. The steel swords vary, haven't found a relic that is particularly outstanding compared to the others (what's 5 damage here or there when you're dealing hundreds, after all?)

I can tell you for certain that the best silver sword in the game is by far the one the Hermit gives you in Blood and Wine. Aerondight is the sword's name.
As for armor Ursine is the best for any sword centric build because of the adrenaline point gain and reduced monster damage and Griffin is the best for a mage build thanks to the extra sign intensity.

Since my playstyle requires medium armor for the Griffin School perk, my favorites are Grandmaster Wolven and Manticore armor. With Manticore I also use the appropriate swords for the 6 piece setbonus, with wolven I only want the 3 piece one and so can use other weapons, especially Aerondight.

If you dont care about wearing medium armor I think Ursine Armor is the best.

You get AMI sword for completing "Contract: The Tufo Monster" if I remember correctly...
