The most BS part is how you get attacked before Geralt enters combat mode when you die and reload that autosave
Terrible. Design.
Some random quest with no special reward shouldn't be the hardest fight in the entire game including the expansions. Getting super cheesed is not fun.
I haven't died to anything else in the game so many times.

If you're struggling, get the mutation quest done and run up the stairs with the boosted crossbow damage mutations. Exploding bolts in particular obliterated them.
