Grandmaster Witcher Sets Underwhelming?

Is it just me or are the stats of the grandmaster items, both swords and armor, very underwhelming? I feel like in HoS and vanilla the witcher sets were hands down best in class in all catagories, where in BaW There is almost no reason to use the swords, and the armor is almost a cosmetic improvement.

Dont see any reason to wear grandmaster gear in BW, they seem very laclustre, still wearing my Legendary Viper armor + Blave Steel Sword and Aerondight Silver Sword for my NG+. Those Grandmaster armor sets look terrible too :(

I just upgraded to Grandmaster Cat Armor.. jesus christ thats ugly as ♥♥♥♥.. and everything has very very little stat boost...

Armour set bonus, guaranteed slots and the other armour bonuses, enough said :P

I'll still get the grandmaster ursine armour and swords because i want that adrenaline bonus for my build.. plus its the best looking armour IMO!

Yeah, I'm wearing Grandmaster wolf right now, mainly because I like the way it looks.

Grandmaster griffin set for me, the set's bonus gives really cool power :D
But that was really expensive to craft ><

...It must be a digram you find somewhere I know I can craft dark iron plates as long as I have sufficient darkiron bars/ore What I could find for the life of me was slyzard hide.

Infused slyzard hide can be made using Infused Crystals and cured draconid leather way cheaper than buying 1..i have cleard all d question marks still no clue on dark Iron Plate -_-

You can find Dark Iron plates at most of the smithys in Novigrad,Crows Perch. Be prepared to spam Meditation for 24hr periods to refresh the merchants.

Jesus ♥♥♥♥, it's that simple? I blew 20k getting the slyzard hide for my Grandmaster armor, oh well, still got 90K in the bank :P

Thanks for the tip.. was looking at all the smiths in B&W and no one had any.. and I did not have the ability to craft any either.. just wanted to make some of the high lvl stuff for my armor stand.

This is false. This person is thinking of Dark Steel Plate not Dark Iron Plate. Smithy's do not sell.

If you want Dark IRON plate:

Go to the Ofieri Merchant located north east Novigrad (the one near the RUNERIGHT) he will sell a magical (yellow) Ofieri Tunic, this tunic will break down into ONE DARK IRON PLATE. It is truly as simple as that.

-Tunic Costs $835 crowns

-Meditate for 23 hours 4 times and the merchant will restock the Tunic.
