If you spare her, the guy mentions that she found a mate and that they may make a new cross breed together. Who knows, maybe the white basilisk trait would win out. Either way, they can still breed with regular basilisks.
Plus, there's all sorts of evidence that she doesn't even kill people but might be more of a scavenger. You find out later that bandits were doing killing merchants and blaming it on the beast. You can hang out right by her nest and she won't come down because "she senses danger." When looking for her, you find that corpse that doesn't have many marks and was being pulled to her nest but was for some reason abandoned. This implies she dipped when live people were coming. Later on, you see her flying around and not harming anyone. The guy finally blocks the roads.
Killing the basilisk was the only way to end the cycle of stupid.
Not to mention it means nothing that the basilisk was foreign, especially considering that basilisks are invasive to begin with, making it laughable that the noble said killing it would ruin the ecosystem.
Doesn't matter if Vesemir or anyone else would do a certain thing or if he's a witcher. HOWGH
1- the beast eat animal- carcass on the nest
2- letter i found on 2nd body- mention payment of insurance, they know about the beast,
3-the merchant intentionally bring goods with a strong smell to disturb the beast
4-Geralt don't kill beasts that have sentience and do not disturb human
5- the land belongs to the count, the merchant trespassing land of others, and the count even give the warning
6- the land situated far from another village
7- witcher have two swords for both type of monsters inside the forest and behind the stone wall
the only reason to kill would be the loneliness of the last species
Am going to reload a previous save, spare it and spawn the Squire's sword via console commands.
