news to me. I used it to take down a noonwraith, so no problems that I've seen.

It's useful when you fight the hunt, lots of baddies on screen.

It is a good crowd control tool, but you have to invest in signs to make it useful or a piriority over quen. The alternate version is very good at stun-locking and chipping some annoying enemies, and it helps with CC; don't use it against enemies that are easy to burn if you invested in Ignii.

If you invest enough, you can put two yardens that will seriously slow some enemies (you can get free/critical hits on some annoying humonoids). Alt version prevents projectiles and destroys wraiths in general.
it's good agains wraiths and quick enemies, also when facing multiple opponents :) so yeah it is worth it IMHO

Once you get high enough level you can kill wraiths quicker than dropping Yrden.

unlike other signs like Yrden is only good for specific enemies like wraiths etc. Quen, Aard, Igni are generally good in any situation, Yrden is either really good or really bad.

If your build is a sign master then Yrden is good. Because if you upgrade the Yrden sign it have increase area & have damage. If not then its a meh skill.

I've found yrden is such a life saver for its crowd control! IMO its worth it for sure.

I use it during the battles with the hunt, but hardly for anything else except when I was low level fighting wraiths. Ok I did use it during the lighthouse battle with the boss wraith. This is something that potion of clearance works well to change Geralt's points as you need them.
It seems to make almost any opponents much easier as one of the upgrades increases damage done by 50% when it is fully upgraded. Makes much higher level monsters possible to beat if you can dodge well.

I beat them just with the dodge. Yrden didn't help if they had an attack that travelled some distance like with the golems or elementals.

The lightning zaps from the 2nd Yrden level are insanely weak. You'll still kill them faster with a weak silver sword at that rate.
do you guys not understand that you do literally almost no damage to wraiths without them being in yrden? go try it out and you will see what im talking about... i have some of the best gear in the game and i cant do ♥♥♥♥ to wraiths my level with out yrden

The Moon Dust bomb or whatever, gets rid of their "Phasing" ability, which reduces your damage by about 90% or so. Fully upgraded, it removes that particular wraiths ability permanently. So no Yrden needed; only if you want to slow them, which honestly isn't by much.

In Death March NG+, fighting enemies 10, maybe 20 levels above your level, Yrden amongst other signs are extremely useless. Swords and buffs to their damage, are the only things that help you against specters since they can't be burned, or really damaged in any way by signs.
