In general if your playing on any higher difficulty vitality isn't really your most important stat, since you tend to want to not be taking or mitigating damage in the first place.
Definitely prefer the beefy guys that hang around Novigrad dockyard to fall at my feet. Or Zoltan.
I've found that by investigating every single question mark on the screen I've found great relic gear for every single slot. Much better than the basic cat or griffin gear that the game wants me to hunt down. Of course, maybe that changes later in the game ? I dunno.
both swords have the runeword to improve whirl range and the armor has levity enhancement. pretty unbeatable.
Only real reason not to use Aerondight as your silver sword is if you really want the 6 piece grandmaster set bonus for witcher gear.
