Place of power bug

I can't use place of powers at all don't get buff or skill point, geralt just sits and then stands up. Just curious if anyones heard this issue before and how they fixed it.

Also to be clear I played and beat witcher 3 about 4 years ago, and never had this issue then so it's just a shame that it's happening now all of a sudden especially since now I'm starting my death march playthrough.

Things I've tried already:
Deleting and re-installing game
Matching sign to the place of powers sign
Resetting PC

Just to be sure. You keep pressing the button to "meditate" at the place of power? Geralt will sit and stand up if you just tap the button.

You're probably on new game plus and already got those places of power in your original playthrough. You'll only get the sign boost. Otherwise you may have a skill in your build that's interfering with the buff.

No, I guess I forgot to write that but yeah I make sure to hold the button to meditate in front of the place of power.

I'm currently playing on NG+ and you still get the skill points from the the places of power even if you got it the previous play through. Although I did notice it bug out some times. Just try it a few more times and make sure to hold E for the entire animation and then some. It will work eventually.

Yeah, I just googled it and you're right. That sucks, I missed all those ability points but when you're level 97 you don't really need anymore. lmao

Had the same issue as OP where I did interact with Place of Power, but didn't get any buff or Ability Point in the last version of this game (Next Generation).

Thanks to suggestion of DeFox one have to keep holding Interact key until you get those things the first time you interact with PoP. It might take a couple of seconds before you will see that notification on screen.

I don't recall I had to do this (holding Interact key until you get notification that you have now buff and AP) that long when I played this game in 2015 and a couple of other times before NG.

As far as I recall one had just to interact to get buff and AP the very first time one found one PoP,

Yes, I know this post is a necro, but I think this could be helpful to anybody that today play Witcher 3 and have this issue.
