Dude everyone knows there was heavy plot armor there. Getting fumed about it is pointless. IMO CDPR ♥♥♥♥♥♥ that entire Kaer Morhen fight 20 ways to sunday and never looked back.
This is where the haters of TW3 dont understand most of the "problems" in the game. They try to piggyback off arguments made by youtubers who have 9k subs and 10k dislikes on a video. They never actually played the game and cant understand the biggest issues in the game that even people who loved it like you and me have to stamp our feet about.

Elven sages are more powerfull than human mages, and are capable to transport larger groups, but even then they often have to combine their energy to transport a considrable amount.
On top of that - most of the mages in Novigrad are not even close to the level of Triss or Yenifer, and only can transport themsleves at best, while most mages do not even are capable of opening portals at all (they have other specialisations, but opening portals is not one of them). Do not forget that Triss and Yennifer are very powerfull sorceresses.
And Keira doing only one time that "slamming" trick. Well - as I said, sorceresses only have a limited amount of energy. Once used, they have to "recharge" and are not capable to do the same thing again. Sure - She can still throw fireballs, lightning and stuff like that, but doing such a massve trick again requires at least a long rest time to "charge" enough. And Keira obviously cannot take a long rest while the battle is going on.
I think TW3 was supposed to end at Kaer Morhen or almost immediately after. The story, while it does have holes, really doesn't unravel until after that point. The really weak "Final preperations" quests, the odd disconnect of certain subplots, and just the weird pacing kinda highlight this.
Before that you are running around enjoying the story doing whatever and then BAM Kaer Morhen fight and a weird pause in the action... homeboy just saw Ciri go ragetastic and knows the feeble force at Kaer Morhen is wiped. Rather than, I dunno, attacking? He lets his LT's go off and fornicate in a forest?
We do know they were rushed for some reason at the end of development becaus they kept delaying release to "polish." I never looked at it like this before but maybe they added more to the story almost at the end of development and screwed up their final act.
