Collecting herbs on Skellige question.
Hey guys,

I have just arrived on Skellige, and in the process of cleaning up the loot left behind following the shipreck, I found certain herb locations displayed on my mini-map that seemed to be on rock formations. But when I tried to locate and collect them, there was none to be found. Yet the little leaf symbol remained. Now I should point out that I can collect other herbs without problem, it seems to be the ones appearing close to or on rocks that I can't. Do I need to do something, like learn a new skill, or upgrade an existing one, perhaps?

Many thanks,

Grant.

Hi Buzzardbee,

I'm sorry i didn't post one in the first place, but in all honesty, it propbably wouldn't help. See, although the small leaf symbol appears on the mini-map, no plant or flower seems to be at the destination when I search the area. But, this issue only arises when the leaf symbol directs me to a rock or stone cluster in the water. And, no, it's not under the water, I've checked.

Forgive the rather poor description, but I can't think of any other way of putting it.

Thanks for trying to help!

Grant.

P.S. My game is installed via GOG, in case you were wondering why Idon't have it in my library.

Thanks, Buzzardbee,

See, I don't have problems collecting 99% of those herbs indicated on the mini-map, including those underwater, but for some reason a couple of those indicated ON the rocks I. Just couldn't find in the game world. It's not that I can't collect them, It's that they're not visible. Or I'm not searching properly.

Buzardbee,

Yeah, I remember that quest! Anyway, I love the huge open game world and everything in it. It's a great game, in my opinion! But, like always, bugs find their way into the game. I guess it's a case of deciding to not play the game at all or live with the bugs.

There have been bugs in games since the 1970s. The best you can hope for is that they're not game breaking. Just think of them as 'quirks.'

Nothing's perfect, but this game gets closer than most, live with the minor bugs and enjoy!

Hey guys,

As the OP, I'll add my own final thoughts: in the grand scheme of things, the "glitches" (as my son refers to bugs) in this game seem far less irritating or game breaking than many other AAA titles released today, and depite my original, rather obscure issue, I thoroughly enjoy almost everything about this game.

In that particular area and others around the coast, it's usually a moss type plant, red in colour, clinging to the rocks. Can you actually see the plant?

No, I can't, unfortunately. I mean, like i said, in the grand scheme of things, it's not a big problem. I was simply wondering if I was doing something wrong, or needed to do something differently, for that matter.

Let me add again that most of the time when the plants appear on the mini-map, I can see them in the game world.
