Skelliege: We get it, you sink!
Has anyone else just about lost their minds trying to complete Skelliege's objective markers? I get that Skelliege is all about ships and sunken treasure, but the amount of random sunken treasure in the ocean has me frothing at the mouth.

I'm a completionist: I like to see everything get done. The amount of Skelliege sunken loot is making me go crazy for two reasons:
1. There are WAY too many. A few wouldn't be bad but there are way too many objective markers on Skelliege.
2. Almost all of the loot is the same thing. I don't know the exact formula, but after opening 20+ of these chests and seeing the exact same thing, it's boring and tedious.

I'm honestly about to look for some sort of console command that's similar to Skyrim's "tmm 1" because all of these markers are insane. Am I the only one in this, or?

As being a completionist aswell, after finishing White Orchard, Velen and Novigrad with most of it explored (not 100% of course but u get what I mean...) I have to admit the game is so massive that I realized it was too tedious to do the same in Skellige, in my second playthrough I will try to explore Skellige a bit further but I think it will turn to be a boring thing to do...

Same. I havent even completed Novigrad yet because of some levels being too high.

I always explore everything on my playthroughs except the underwater loot.... it is rather tedious and not really worth it in the long run

How can you even "explore" when you automatically get intricately detailed maps updated to the millisecond of when you're in the land... and there's no fog of war or any type of automap to speak of?

well collecting half of the treasures in skellige got me to craft 1 set of grandmaster armor... collecting all would mean it woul only get me 2 sets of grandmaster armors soo

We're more so refering to all of the water based points of interest. The land based markers have important documents like Oil recipes and such. The water ones are just the same loot over and over(I mean, they arent in a literal sense but pretty much the same formula for items). They are also a pain to get.

Shoot harpies/drowners. Dive to the bottom. Shoot any other monsters. Spend a minute trying to tap E. Grab all the stuff. Swim to the surface, get back in your boat for the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ loot.

Repeat 40x+ on Skelliege.

Because all those question marks are undiscovered areas until, say it with me: you EXPLORE them. D'uh. I'm surprised at you, ydraig. Would have thought even you could come up with that one on your own.
Wait, aren't you supposed to turn those off in order to "enjoy the game to its fullest?"

I don't think this game is really geared towards the completionist. That is just part of the replay value: to explore what you had not before, and make different decisions. Maybe you should try to just explore as you go instead of hitting each destination methodically, now that you realize that it is not a special secret for each question mark.

I'm completionist too and completing all the question marks in the sea around the Skellige was a real pain. And yup, too many same loot, too many smuggler caches. If you want to complete everything, you need lots of patience. There was an accident when I sunk my boat 2 kilometers away from the land, so I had to swim.

that's exactly what I am trying to point out. Loot them all and sell them... go back to Toussaint and craft the best weapons and armors in game. One set would cost around 45,000 crowns? and that is excluding the basic all the way to mastercrafted costs. I had to loot Skellige xD

Did everything in Skellige. Got piles of gold.

Just a suggestion - don't use a boat (or horse), just swim.

Why there so many sunken? Do you remember the pirate that attacking Geralt ship? That is how there so many sunken ship. It because there so many Pirate faction and most of them is lead by Hammond on Faroe island. Even the Jarl that been friend with Geralt said to him that Hammond is "the leader of marine army" of Skellige.

Did 'em all on my first playthrough, Skipped Skellige on the second playthrough. Done them all except for Skellege in which I'm doing now on my third, and I plan on doing 100% again on my fourth and (for the foreseeable future) final playthrough.
Wu Sep 4, 2016 @ 6:45am
Yeah, same here. I always go out of my way to collect every thing (especially in AC games), but Skellige is just too much. A lot of the stuff isn't even all that great.
