This Game Ruined Gaming For Me!
I am really struggling to find any games that I want to buy after the Witcher 3. It's just perfect. The world is amazing and I don't want to leave it. I read the books, I watched the TV series, I listen and re-listen to the audiobooks but when I look at other games I think ... they don't look anywhere near as involving as the Witcher 3. Sure I have NG+ which I am working my way through but in terms of other games... is there anything that has a story like this one?

Other than playing a bit of Red Alert and C&C Generals I just cannot seam to find anything interesting. Valheim looks cool because it's Vikings but it also looks like Minecraft and I am not that interested in crafting ... except in W3.... I am lost. Does anyone have any suggestions for games that will engage me like W3? I have bought it on PS too just so I can play it again from my sofa....

I get this feeling every time I complete a game I really love. I'll recommend the last few games that had me by the balls, Divinity Original Sin 2, Red Dead Redemption 2, Wasteland 3, and Dark Souls 3.

Just give it time and you'll find new stuff to play.
I disagree with the opinion that The Witcher 3 is the best thing in gaming. But, I am happy of you enjoy it.

Yes, I remember that feeling! I wish I had a witcher potion to erase my memory.

Here you go... now you can enjoy it again!

Hi, I know that it's somehow different genre, but the only game I really enjoyed after W3 was Hollow Knight. You can spend endless hours there, mechanics are top notch, lots of thing to collect and the lore is unique

I enjoy the music in Hollow Knight when my eldest son plays it and I like the graphics style but I have yet to play it. I must do more sofa gaming (it's on our PS4 which I never use) along with Horizon Zero Dawn which I intend to devote some time to.

try Enderal - Forgotten Stories for Skyrim. it´s free on steam, if you own Skyrim/Skyrim SE.
one of the best rpgs imho
https://store.steampowered.com/app/933480/Enderal_Forgotten_Stories/?l=english

Skyrim is on my Wishlist and every time it's on sale I think... I never got into Oblivion and everyone loved it, this will be the same. I just wandered around aimlessly in Oblivion missing the story somehow. Then, like now, when it goes off sale I start thinking maybe I'd like Skyrim, sure the polygon count is low but the landscapes are great.

This mod looks awesome though. I've just been reading the Tower of Fools and Warriors of God by Andrzej Sapkowski and thinking how much I love a believable world, and great stories. I just love narrative. It's one of the things that let down World of Warcraft, there were too few good stories and too many fetch quests/kill 50 boar quests. This mod though looks very interesting. I think I need to just stop being tight and buy Skyrim SE whether it's on sale or not.

Have you tried W1 & W2? surely it cannot be compared with W3 but at least you get to immersed in witcher world again

You know I reckon I have these in my Library and have never played them so that's a good idea.

Horizon zero dawn, God of War 4, Rise of the tomb raider, Uncharted series, Ghost of tsushima, Red dead, AC series. All great story driven games that arguably have just as good or better gameplay than TW3, on a story level it is hard to top the witcher but horizon and red dead are pretty close also Kingdom Come deliverance is great for a similar themed medieval inspired game with emphasis on realism.

A few people have mentioned HZD and I must give it a proper go as I have it on the PS4. The three later Tomb Raider games are very good, I still have the third to play so I should go play it and I am sure I will enjoy it.

Ghost of Tsushima is something I have been looking out for on the PS store (I don't think there is a PC port) and does look fantastic.

Red or Dead 2 is another title that a few people on this thread have suggested and it has crossed my mind. I think it's got a good chance of going down well with me.

AC on the other hand. Well, everyone seams to have different views on the series but I came late to it and loved Origins, found Odyssey okay but lost interest during the first expansion, and Valhalla has held my attention even less. I keep feeling that I should be enjoying Valhalla more but I think it could do with more Stealth and is missing the pleasure of sneaking around forts.

Kingdom Come Deliverance is another one that I get close to buying then read an off-putting review. Does it have an interesting world with stories to get involved in?

Is this better than people give it credit for? I have been holding back suspecting that it may get patched into a gem.

If you don't mind old graphics and can get used to a little outdated controls, I highly recommed Gothic 1 + 2. They don't make games immersive like this anymore.

These games and the Witcher trilogy are probably my favorite WRPGs.

ENDERAL:FORGOTTEN STORIES should really be at the top of the list. Recall that CD Project Red's original philosophy was to make the game (Witcher) the way that they wanted to play, not to be forced to do what a publisher wanted. Enderal was made by a small group of volunteers doing the same thing, making the game as they wanted it to be. One thing to keep in mind is that Enderal is a mod, so there are some things SureAI (the makers of Enderal and its predecessors) could not change that were embedded into the Skyrim engine. Also, as with Witcher 3, Enderal is the 4th mod by SureAI set in the same world, so they were able to learn and improve over the course of the 4 mods, just as CD Project Red improved from Witcher to Witcher 3.
Mass Effect is the pinacle of video gaming, but to each his own.
I'd recommend the whole Mass Effect series (so obviously not Andromeda).
Then the Divinity: Original Sin series.
Then... well after that it really depends on what you like.
I'd say every bungie Halo game, the 2 first Dead Space, the 2 first Borderlands, Hollow Knight. All those games are at least in my top 50, even 10 for some.
god of war 4 is coming to pc in january, so maybe it too will be a god tier game.
I've yet to play red dead redemption 2, so I cant tell.

I have to admit tho, the witcher 3 is a masterpiece and the benchmark of what a video game should aspire to be :yennefer:

edit: Almost forgot Metal Gear Solid 5. Although we are still waiting for the whole series to come to PC, as a standalone, the game is a blast!

HZD is a must play imo, one of best games of the past decade and the dlc is excellent too, you can grab the complete game on PS store for less than $20. Kingdom come is a great one you get into it, the mechanics can be little frustrating and difficult to learn at first but once you master them it's truly satisfying. The world is fun to explore and main story is good also, the gameplay has more of an emphasis on realism so the learning curve is higher but well worth the effort. Graphics aren't anything special but the open world is a pleasure to explore. You start off as a peasant and build towards becoming a knight or master hunter, etc based on your character development.
