Can't complete Brothers In Arms: Skellige because I messed up quest sequence! Am I SOL?
I didn't complete the various quests to help Cerys and Hjalmar in the correct sequence, so now I can't get access to those parts of the game that will complete this side quest. Talking to Cerys and Hjalmar only reveals that neither will help me until the succession is settled, but Geralt is unable to do those things that will settle the issue.

Is there any way back from this (aside from loading a save) or am I doomed to leave Skellige without any help from these two?

You can get every single npc possible to help or you could tell everyone to go kick rocks, it doesnt actually matter.

Face your choices, don't ruin your witcher experience because it has to be correct, perfect or to 100% achievements first playthrough because this game is designed to be replayed multiple times and nobody's perfect.

What do you mean "in the correct sequence"? You could start off by showing what quests you've started, finished and if you've failed any of the ones you're talking about.

Just out of curiosity why are you not able to complete that quest?

Back in Act 1, after the bear attack at the feast, I failed to take a particular action that sets up the ability to choose between Hjalmar and Cerys later on in Act 2. Now there is nothing that I have been able to discover that Geralt can do to place him in the position of supporting one of the two for the throne. As described above, talking to either of them, their father, Ermion, or anyone else results in no change.

I’ve done some more searching on the internet at large, and it seems that many people have found themselves at precisely this juncture. The only thing you can do is load a saved game and attend the feast and this time not f*** up.

I was hoping that among the many, many people who have played TW3 and who contribute to this forum there was at least one person who had discovered a loophole whereby that error at the feast could be worked around.

Many thanks to those who responded. I think I can live with my mistake - I really don’t have the patience to load a saved game and undo everything I’ve completed since!
